Watching Ronin take in the surroundings, the starchild realized she was holding her breath. Letting it out in a soft sigh as he expressed his awe, she smiled in no small amount of relief. "I'm glad you like it," she said simply, though judging by the look of pride and delight playing across her face her feelings were far from simple.
As her father put an arm about her, Seren leaned against him and rested her head on his shoulder. "Maybe you were," she replied. "Who can say where this ocean ends, or what may lie between here and there."
Holding out the seashell, she let it slip through her fingers. It tumbled over itself and fell soundlessly into the sand, cradled safely between alabaster grains. As though a priceless treasure, rested upon some velvet cushion. "But yes... This is my space. A room no one can barge into without knocking." Giving Ronin a playful side-glance, Seren made to wrap her arm around his back and tickle his side. Just a little. She had no recollection of that ever happening before, but just in case...
