Secrets, mysteries, treasures and more -- such things Theo had promised others many times, and he liked to think that he was beyond such games, smart enough to see through such facades. He told himself that he was approaching the Table as a fellow practitioner of the art of the steal, of the grift and the con, not as a potential mark. With an easy smile on his face and his hands never quite in view -- dipping in and out of the pockets of his fellow patrons -- he hung back a bit, coming just close enough to make it clear that his approach to the Table was no accident, but letting others make the first move.
