Maeve
A growl? Well that's new. Admittedly, she likes the way it sounds and can't help wondering if he would do the same thing if she pushed him enough when they were alone. "You know nothing about my luck, Locke. For all you know I'm the luckiest girl in the world." She's not. Not even fucking close. Her luck was poor and it wasn't until she got here that it turned around. The only reason she was here in the first place is because her luck ran out. It was the best thing to have happened to her.
"It's the only place I could think of that wouldn't possibly kill me in the process. Plus it's different from here." Maeve shrugs again, slim shoulders rising and falling as she chews on her bottom lip, sorting her cards. At the mention of the necklace her eyes dip down and she sees the chain he's talking about. Her expression softens and she looks back up at him, green finding hazel, "That is special... I don't think my parents ever gave me anything of value besides my looks." Her parents didn't even realize she left. They didn't care.
Maeve lays down a couple of cards and draws a few others. She takes a breath. Why does he keep asking such hard questions? She has no idea what she's going to do after this. Maybe take over for the Madame. That was a possibility. She knew how to run this place. Already kind of does. "I'm not sure. Maybe become the new Madame. Maybe settle down somewhere. I haven't given it much thought." Maeve pauses, glancing down at her cards and she lays them down. Two pair. "What's one thing you want, but don't think you deserve?"
