Olavi followed, always the silent protector, the shadow behind Nerissa; his role did not require him to speak, did not require him to act unless there was a threat. They came up towards the cliffs, the solemn song chilling his bones but he did not outwardly react, the shark merely glancing up at the surface before he continued.
Finally, they wanted to move closer to the shore; as Nerissa took his face in her hands he nodded dutifully and shifted back to his mer form, stretching out his arms before going with the rest to swim along the coast line, as close to the beach as possible, the shallows of the water easier to see in for their non-mer friend anyway. This place is too bright and cold. He said to Nerissa only, then was quiet again.
