Still holding Korbin, Loren nodded at the other man's words. Swallowing, the healer tried to speak past the lump in his throat. "I know." Taking a deep breath, he squeezed his eyes shut even as he pulled Korbin closer. "But you're here." The words came out quietly and more than a bit desperately.
"No." Loren's refusal was absolute. "I won't let you throw away your life like this." Opening his eyes, he clung to the other man. "If I have to kill myself keeping you alive, I will. Because I refuse to let there be more tragedy, more loss, after everything we've suffered."
