Content with her work, Melita hardly noticed the movement beneath Fangorn’s motions, and the sand shifting under her, sending her down, down, down, stifled an outcry, sounding more like a gasp as she quickly swallowed up by the earth. There was the sensation of panic that overwhelmed instantly, inclinations and instincts telling her to fight, dragging her arms upward in hopes of grabbing hold of anything. “Fuck!” she announced instead, striving to cling to any edges at this ridiculous pitfall, uncertain how or why anything had happened. One moment she was helping, and the next, churning down into sinking endeavors.
