Well, that didn't take long. Sam was actually quite glad to be an early out though as it meant he longer had to deal with the social minefield of musical chairs (was it polite to give up your chair to the hosts? What did you do if you accidentally sat on someone's lap?). He gave Oliver a weak smile, but was more keen to go and eat the cake than spend time talking to anyone.
Perhaps he didn't need food, but he'd always had a bit of a sweet tooth, and the cake was delicious. Watching the game continue he ate with delicate bites, catching crumbs with a napkin.
