It wasn’t simple, and Sunjata knew this far more intensely than Korbin might realize. So when the youth quips back, Sunjata snorts lightly and shakes his head. “So what if you’re not a hunter? You don’t have to be, is what I’m saying.” He tilts his head back toward Korbin with a raise of his brow, a toothy and fanged grin. “Art is just as important as the rest of it. Besides, how else would ballads or stories be made, if all the writers and musicians went off to battle with them?” Another bounce of his brow to that before he taps a finger along his tattooed arm.
“You have the Kraai now. Use it. Perhaps on a rowdy day you can pull out the lute and get the place to sing with you.” He hums thoughtfully, a soft chuckle leaving his lips with it as he focuses on the waves before him. “You might surprise yourself.” Sunjata had surprised himself with everything he had stuck his hands into, thinking he couldn’t do it.
“And if it helps, where I was born… I was supposed to be this soldier – which I guess I still am in a sense – but anyway, I was supposed to enforce the laws of my world. They were backwards, wrong, meant to put people down more than they were to bring people up. So I joined the resistance that had formed.” He inclines his head again toward Korbin. “Joining a resistance when you’re the son of the king of the land is not a good look, as I’m sure you can imagine. It meant a lot of death, and yet… Yet I still did it, even if I thought it wouldn’t work or I couldn’t do it. I did.”
