SUNJATA
the flood
'cause my life is like a bedroom door
don't lead me in when you feel low
don't lead me in when you feel low
A brighter smirk is given to Nate at the comment of delivery, a tip of his head in agreement full of teasing. “I guess so.” He agrees, before he’s testing Nate again and finding him like a brick wall. A slight huff leaves him, pulling back to see the brow raise, cursing internally about how he was so good at stilling like that. But then, the laughter and the way Nate pulls back as well, has it reflecting in Sunjata’s face – eyes softening, nose wrinkling a small amount.
“It would’ve seemed like it, huh?” He hums with a laugh of his own, melding with Nate’s – though not quite as hard. And he settles as Nate gets the time to relax and control his laughter, a crooked grin crossing Sunjata’s face at the question. And, well, yes. That’s exactly it. So he bobs his head a small amount, reaching up to brush the sand off of his hand on Nate’s shoulder with a wink of amusement.
Though he has to pause just to think about what exactly to say. “I have… A lot more shifts than most people do, I think. At least being so young of an Attuned.” He admits, though there’s a hint of pride within it. “But I’ve got a pretty even mix of prey and predators, so when I’m shifted as the snake, panther, and whale, I can get kind of aggressive.” He snorts. “But the rest of them – the macaw, bull, and bat – make me pretty flighty.” He tilts his head, wondering if Nate’s seen that with the partial shifts that take over. The way he reacts when the horns sprout from his head, when the bat shift coats his arms, when the feathers show his anxieties.
