Maea was given the time she needed to get her bearings, to recover her senses if not the strength or the health. She thought long and hard on her options, slowly realizing that she was on her own here. Through Shii, she was fed glimpses of the others, how Ronin was busy with the other whale and Wessex doing nothing, while Delphia... well, for all Maea knew the woman was as gone as she was.
A grim, hard determination was building within her - if she wanted to get out of this mess she would have to do it herself - and so she set to work on the only other strategy she could think of. Since the ice had been less than effective, she tried to go the other opposite. Aiming for the same area of the skull as last time, Maea tried to heat up the water surrounding the bone to a boil, hoping to make it more brittle. Should the whale begin to thrash again, she was prepared to cushion herself against the impacts with more telekinesis.
