I only meant to say that... well. I ought to try and at least look into it myself first, before relying upon my goddess to do the work for me." He smiled bashfully and shrugged his shoulders. Then her fingers ghosted out to brush along his jawline and his cheek, and it felt like electricity sparking through his veins.
A soft hum of relief left him as, naturally, the tension drained from his neck and shoulders, and Ronin couldn't even deny that Safrin was right about it. He carried invisible weight with him, always, and that wasn't going away any time soon. "I appreciate your doing it. I really do," he murmured.
