Holding out the new cup for Abasi to take, the summoner lifted his own. Seeing as the only seats in the kitchen were stools, he bit his lip. ”Let’s talk in the library, then.” With that, he padded barefoot to the other room.
Opening it up to reveal the dark and cool room, lit dimly by half-shuttered windows, he walked inside. He walked over to the window to let in more light, then settled into an armchair. My life, my past.” Curling his fingers around his cup, he ignored the sting of pain from the heat.
