Within the box a red flower grew, a large silky petal just visible through the cracks in the construction. The bard hurried to grow a barrier of thorny vines around it in the shape of a loose cage, finishing it just as the time ran out. He shifted into his snake form, tucking the flag firmly between his coils as he settled in to wait in a patch of tall grass, pale body motionless as he watched with unblinking eyes to see who (or what) would come to take the bait.
