The sudden whale sitting in the mud was both shocking and a relief. At least Jata was alive and breathing and doing all that he could to smash their muddy foe. But that relief did not mean that she could stop and rejoice. Her dagger had hit true, and now that she was in the fray, she couldn't stop. She had to keep going or else people would die, herself included. And so she slashed and stabbed, trying to cut away at the monstrous thing and do as much damage as she could.
Pim roared angrily, peeved that he missed as the giant flys-in-water-dragon appeared and threw him off aim. But he was not deterred for long, divebombing the mud monster once again to snap and claw.
