There was success in their movements and motions, and the steadfast girl clung to all the energy she could possess, forming it into control and contortions, into a frenzy of luxere amusement. She listened to Amalia’s story, smiling beneath their veils and shrouds, hiding along backdrops and scenery as the puppets were performing and holding up to their roles. At the hints, she moved her three faithful deer forward again, their dancing, wild and free acts adding to the scene, to the trickery of dear Safrin of the stars. They willingly followed Ludo’s directions, and she stirred the rods and threads so the luxere obliged; suddenly, accordingly, standing by the goddess’s bed, ignorant to their part of the snares and duplicity. They appeared sweet, innocent, hardly a portion to the specious acts, foolishly triumphant beneath Ludo’s intentions.Then – it was up to the aforementioned god (and the youth could barely contain her excitement – buzzing, humming under her breath).
