Neither Tal nor Boreal was particularly shy about hugging their friends, and the courier squeezed Soh's shoulder, tucking her more comfortably against his side as Boreal wriggled more tightly against her thigh and shifted her head to rest her scaly chin on the Heart's knee, crooning soft reassurance. She might not have understood the details of the situation, but her friend was hurting and the dragon did her best to comfort her in her own way.

I mean, maybe not always but... even if things aren't workin' out now, it doesn't mean they won't work out later. It would suck to lose your best friend over this. Trust me... it does more'n just suck. D'you think y'could go back to bein' 'just' friends with 'im for awhile? Maybe give it a couple more seasons an' then see how y'both feel about each other?"
