"Careful," she says automatically as he sits himself up, surprised to see how green his eyes are as their gazes meet for the first time as two humans.

"I imagine it does," she manages through a soft laugh, Isla finally letting her shoulders sag with giddy relief. "Do you mind if I run a few tests with you? Things like reflexes, nerves, things like that. It's just so I can get an idea of a baseline, make sure there's nothing I missed, no side effects, that sort of thing..."
