Hell, Bart's pretty much the same in being content to leave it at that. He did his moral duty or whatever, that means he's off the hook. Sloppily saluting them and beginning to determine whether he wants to exit here or swim back to the dock, his dark curly head turns back around when their voice echoes out over the water a second time.

A little too gruff to do more than avert his eyes from the implication that lies on the tail ends of a sentence they don't complete, because Bart isn't the most comforting type despite his profession.
