Kaiden relaxed slightly when the octopus fled, it's void-like eyes no longer peering into their soul. Giving Hadama a nod with only minor grumbling, the mershark returned to scouting. Kaiden avoided the reef as much as they could, trying to find suitable paths that rounded the corals clusters radiating out of it.

Flatter terrain free of coral or dangerous rocks would be good, right? At least, that's what the mershark decided. Seeking out such a path, they continued on. This route was free of judgmental octopi, thankfully. But a mean school of fish did glare at Kaiden as they passed. Baring their teeth, the mershark grumbled in annoyance.
