Deimos had only ever heard brief stories of Mort from legends amidst tomes. His experience with the god’s counterpart, Vi, had been only slightly more, due to Amalia, Noah, and the blight circumstances. Curiosity compelled once the shock had worn off his edges, snorting away her preening disposition. “And how was Mort?”

A clench and feathering of his jaw snagged, pondering if he’d upset her – only to hear the notions thereafter. “I am glad you got a chance to see him again.” Alive, well, whole, before the return into the world beyond.
