Busy making his own mischief, Danta doesn't notice little hands and a little voice and big eyes (and a weird doll) until Trinket is directly beneath him, piping up into the snarled branches where he's sprawled out. "Because I am," he drawls, flashing a fanged smile back down at her. "Why are you by yourself? Don't kids usually have grown ups with them?"
What does he know, though - he's not been around children in literally centuries. Regardless, he's not sure he wants to make a habit of it now. "Don't you have a lantern to hang or something?" he asks, laying his head on his arms to watch the lanterns below him continue to swing, the lights dancing over Trinket like a disco ball (or they would, if Danta knew what one of those was).
