Any old fool could, but that was not how Maea saw this woman. What-if's and could have been's aside, strangers though they may be, the pull was still there. The curiosity, and above all the admiration she felt kept her rooted.
At least until Hotaru asked for a clarification. Then the girl shifted finally, displacing her weight in what could only be described as an awkward shuffle. She cleared her throat, and a touch of silver darkened her cheeks.
"I... was wondering if you might be willing to... let me borrow a shift." Too sharp teeth worried at a bottom lip, and though it clearly wasn't easy for her, Maea still met her gaze. "I could help you bring your hunt back, in return. Or... anything else, really."
Gods, how did her people do this? Was it as awkward and strange for all of them?
