Of course Ludo watches. It always watches at this festival, peeping at the lanterns and whispering through the trees. Is it the people who intrigue it, or their memories? Because oh, memories there are in abundance. And just as things are warming up, as old friends and new meet to talk and remember those who once were, a trickle of dead leaves picks up and begins to swirl around... Melita Of course, Ludo does not have the Ascended souls (as you well know), and the others that the honeybee girl mourns are not in Caido. But, feeding on the things she recalls, Melita will feel the press of a maternal presence around her shoulders, a kiss to her fiery hair, and the sound of a sibling's sweet laughter on the breeze. And beside the table of confections, perhaps a glimpse of a fanged couple; one raven haired and beautiful, the other handsome and charismatic. They share a kiss, caring nothing for the public nature of their affections; but then Bastien and Rexanna always were that way. The memories play out, marching to the beat of Melita's heart, before fading once more as if on a sigh. Another Festival of Lights concludes. Melita has been chosen by Ludo!
