Tal stole glances at Melita's preparations as he caught up with her, eyes widening at the bracelet that became a bow. Magic, and not small stuff, either, always caught his attention and no little envy, but her casual dismissal of the avian predators had Tal swallowing back the exclamation of admiration that nearly escaped. He tried to play it casual and act tough - too little, too late - but Boreal snorted her amusement and rolled her eyes and then began to follow the human girl and her gourd again, forcing her bonded to keep moving or lose his support.
