Nikolai pauses in wonder, taking the glasses off and rubbing them. Placing them back on, he observes the people, seeing if the auras are still there. Sure enough, the aura is still present. "Does this tell me what people are? Their race?" The words are a whisper meant only for his own ears.
"Blue is Ascended, and amber is... Abandoned?" The first individual was family, that much he knew. But the second one's magical feel was different. Nikolai knows that they weren't an Ascended and he gets the feeling that the aura of an Attuned would be different. Accepted didn't have magic so that just left Abandoned.
"I wonder what colors the others are?" Nikolai
Nikolai guesses that the glasses tell him what races people are.
