Wessex’s motives are purely selfish; for all that she’s coming round to Sunjata… well, everyone knows where her priorities truly lie.

Sorry, again.” At that point, someone yells across the marketplace, “Wessex!” and the General turns to see a woman and a child trying to get her attention. “Ah, I think I need to take care of something. See you soon, Sunjata.” And with a parting, friendly touch to his arm, she turns to the Grounders to give them her full attention.
