Ronin is halfway to the window when Remi suggests that he let him go instead, and the Huntsman carefully lowers himself back into a crouch on the deck of their houseboat, ready to spring into action at a moment's notice. "Alright," he mutters, watching carefully as Remi disappears down through the floorboards. More scales skitter down his back and along his neck and shoulders at the sudden flailing panic, and Ronin is halfway to his feet when his husband's voice fills his mind.
