Noah found the note on his shelter early in the day when he returned with a few winter hares strung up around his shoulder. He hung them on a post outside his temporary home, giving Eira instructions to protect them from anything that might try to snatch them. The griffin accepted her post with grace and curled up in the snow beneath them, finally pleased at the temperature of the world around her.
"Deimos," Noah greeted as the warlord launched his assault on the target before him. The hunter slapped his comrade's shoulder at his approach. "Training it is, then." He nodded, lowering the fur-rimmed hood off of his head. Noah was ready to move forward, to get stronger, to hone and practice skills that he had attained over the last several seasons.
