There was a time when he didn't bother to celebrate how many times Caido has flung itself around the sun in his honour (does Caido do that? does he care? nope) but over the years it's become an occasion for Torchline as much as for himself.
They're not at the Hanged Man any more, but they're not at the beach yet either, though the merry bonfires in the distance suggest that they'll be on their way there soon. Nah, right now they're somewhere along the market streets, and Jack is propped up by is sitting between two of the Ark's crew to play dice along one of the alleyways.
He can't cheat at dice unless they're loaded, so he doesn't bother. He does know when someone else's dice are loaded though, so there's that. Around the group of gamblers there's music, drinking, drugs, and probably a fight going down somewhere. He's pretty sure there's a couple fucking in an alleyway across from them too, but there's time for that later.
(There's not, probably, because he'll be passed out by then, but he can dream).
