This is as much a test for Seren as it is for Hotaru, and the girl is doing splendidly so far. It is quite mature of her to offer protection on her own basis before offering Ronin's assistance, and Hotaru nods, clearly accepting and absorbing these words but refraining from commenting just yet. There are still other matters and concerns she had raised after all.
