My dear, we're slow dancing in a burning room
"I meant decor wise.." Maeve felt her cheeks flush, pursing her lips as she headed into the kitchen, grabbing a glass for Seren to pour her some of the port from the decanter. While she might be living a luxurious life now, it wasn't something the Madame always had when growing up with a father who didn't want her, more willing to toss her outside for crying than deal with his own child. "I lost a lot of things in the storm... Stuff I'd been collecting since I was sixteen and this is the biggest home I've ever had." Her shoulders lift in a small shrug, trying to play it off, bottom lip catching between her teeth. Sensing her sudden discomfort, Aidon came from where he'd been snoozing in the bedroom, trotting into the kitchen to press against her side as she put on a kettle.
It's good that Seren provided the clarification because that is exactly where her mind went. The name isn't one she recognized and it had her arching a brow, glancing over at Seren where she was flopped into the large armchair. "Is that right?" She asked, drifting towards her to pass off the glass of port before heading back into the kitchen to wait for her water to boil. "Definitely sounds like a bit of a mess. Are you planning on going back out?" Maeve turned to the stove again, removing the water from the stove as it started to whistle, setting up her tea tray and bringing it over to the small coffee table that was nestled between the fireplace and the couch, a fire currently crackling happily in the hearth.
"It seems the Old Gods are starting to get their pieces in order... I understand why you would want to stay for that." She said softly, pouring herself some tea, adding a splash of cream and sugar before stirring it in. Maeve settled on the couch, curling in the corner with Aidon resting at her feet.
