He considered again the possibility of using his illusion magic to scare the chicken into going where they wanted, but decided against it: who knew how the chicken might react? Theo didn't want to be responsible for startling it into a rampage. Well, another rampage.
Instead he'd just run after Ray with fruit, glancing back over his shoulder to try and make sure that the chicken was following -- and that it didn't peck or stomp him while he ran.
