MAEA
Looking up at the growl, worried for a second that she had overstepped somehow, Maea regarded the man with somber acceptance of his frustration as he reworked the entire plan. She felt bad. Never did she want to be the reason why someone let go of a project because it seemed too big. Digging her teeth into the Greatwood would be incredibly satisfying... but that was just it. Self-satisfaction, and one that would probably lead to deaths completely in vain. She had been yelled at extensively for doing that - and it seemed that it had stuck, more than she expected.

"I'd be more than happy to help protect our homes," came her quiet reply, responding to his smile with a weak tug at the corner of her mouth. "I'm sure we wouldn't be the only ones. And... if the demigods do act, we can help them in the background. With information gathering, or support, or just... being there. Remi says strength might not be what shifts the tide this time. I hope he is right."

Tugging her coat closer about herself, she offered Boreal a reassuring glance, grateful for the dragon's concern.

Tal felt bad too, but it wasn't because of Maea. She'd pointed out a major flaw in his own high-flying idea that would have just endangered whoever was foolish enough to help him, but that was why he'd wanted to spitball it with her. Not to get some thoughtless pat on the head and assurance that she'd follow him come hail or high water, but genuine feedback on ways to make the idea work.

And if it wasn't as far-reaching and ambitious as the original plan, it was more doable and less dangerous by far.

Both of their smiles were definitely on the struggling side, but Boreal pressed her head against Maea's thigh with a reassuring croon as the Ancient promised to chip in. Tal nodded his own agreement with his pale friend's suggestion of supporting their demi friends, and his smile actually got a little stronger. "Yeah, can definitely do that," he agreed firmly. "An' Remi's been through lots, so he's gotta know what he's talkin' about! We'll figure it out, an' do what's in our power t'do," he assured. "Now c'mon, let's head back t'the Grounds an' get you home!" It would take a couple of days to leave the Greatwood behind, but Tal would be back before too long with other friends to continue the search for the missing Sohalia another day.
