What do you get when two ruthless assassins raise their daughter travelling through the wildest reaches of Caido? Take one look at Theea and you'll get a pretty good idea. Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!

Charades had never really been Flora's forte, but at the end of the day how hard could it really be to communicate I hate it here, let's go. Well, time would likely soon tell.
Having strapped their manta crystals to their throats and swam into the bubblesteam, Flora and Melita began their underwater afternoon in the Spiral Marketplace. Wearing one of the kelp vests that Hadama had previously gotten for her, Flora was otherwise in nothing but a swimsuit and sparkly purple flippers.
Without being able to speak to Melita Flora's mind was free to wander, settling on topics such as her mother's upcoming engagement, her situationship with Jack, her situationship with Koa, planning a contest to see who in all of Caido should take her dead twin's virginity, and her upcoming drink with Dahlia.

Like some child possessed, the beast howls in my veins
The last time Melita had gone under the breadths of Torchline and into the bounty of the sea had been with Hadama – a much more pleasant venture, before demigodhood and wars and so many alterations that it almost seemed like eons ago. And maybe that didn’t matter either, as her hands swept her forward and she pumped herself through the water pleasantly, manta crystal tucked against her throat.
And though there wasn’t any way for them to converse, Melita usually said more than enough with her face, shrugging along as they dove deeper and deeper into the marketplace. Had she any capability to discern Mer wares she might have been fascinated; instead, she was half-inclined to do something amusing, but then thought better of her wild magic. It’d be her luck that she’d set off lightning and kill them all.
Anyway.
Instead, she glanced downwards at some void shit floating nearby, and wrinkled her nose, pointing it out to Flora, in case she’d missed it.

Flora, whose attention was presently by a rather weird looking statue, turned as she caught Mel's movement out of the corner of her eye. Wrinkling her nose as well as she saw a snarled bit of void coral trying to infringe on an otherwise healthy colony, the Doubletake considered.
Part of her had always thought of the merkingdom as not actually part of Torchline, and that part of her just wanted to ignore it. Alas, she was queen and the bits of infected coral didn't look too far-reaching, so rather than suggesting they just ignore it and keep going, Flora nodded her head.
Kicking her flippers and swimming closer, the Doubletake looked around for something she might use to move the coral or otherwise break it off. Finding one large stone, she glanced towards Melita and held up two fingers.

Melita had never particularly cared about the Mer extensions either, but she’d always assisted and helped regardless. It probably wasn’t a good thing if the void persisted through here, because that meant its outreach towards the larger whole of Torchline would still be in danger.
Huffing a breath, she watched as Flora grabbed a stone. Uncertain whether the Queen meant to hurl it or use it to break the coral off, she dove down a little more, snagging at her own rock, and floating back upwards as they stalked the coral. With a quizzical brow and her head tilted, she intended to wait to see what the Doubletake had in mind (which, let’s be real, patience instead of impulsivity was a rarity all its own).
Though she did mime tossing it, for dramatic effect.

Grinning crookedly as the Honeybee returned, Flora tucked the rock under her arm for a moment so she could mime a giant explosion appearing in the wake of Mel's 'thrown' stone.
Opening and closing her fingers—gimme—the queen slammed one rock into the purple coral, doing her best to break it off right at the source. As it happened the coral was not in fact that strong, and though it oozed a weirdly purple dust, it did break off fairly easily. Pulling her lips down into a frown and trying not to breathe? the purple dust, Flora used both stones to pick up the coral and began to swim away with it.
They'd only just entered into the gardens from the marketplace, but Flora was fairly sure that there was a steep dropoff not to far that they could yeet the coral into.

Ohhhhh, not just pulverizing. Got it.
Another segment of coral floated by, and the smuggler wrinkled her nose, intending for the same effect. Snagging at two more rocks below, she returned, following after it not unlike a very young predator, snatching and smooshing the void particles in between the stones. If they weren’t underwater, there might have been a satisfying crunch. Instead, she didn’t dare peek, and glided after Flora.
With the gardens ahead, there’d probably be a perfect spot to fucking toss the rest of whatever, and ensure it didn’t come back to haunt them.
Though the garden was uh, fucking weird. She pointed her elbow towards a marble-looking head nearby, without its body. Totally normal.

If Mel thought the statue sans head was weird, wait until she saw the one where the head was stuck where it's penis should have been.
It was entirely unsatisfying to throw something underwater, such that as Flora yeeted the bit of coral she'd been holding, it rather gracefully glided forward before landing in the sand. Narrowing her eyes at it, the Doubletake silently huffed before swimming over and burying it under some sand.
Listen, she'd tell Hadama about it, alright?
Not necessarily wanting to linger any longer in the garden full of statues that absolutely seemed like they could come alive at any moment, Flora pointed in the direction of the Basin and drew a question mark in the air.

Melita tried very hard not to laugh at both head/penis statue and Flora’s throw, so she looked like a stifled fish by the end of it. Mimicking the same, instead of tossing and hurling it, she found another pinnacle of sand, and after making a hole with her foot, also buried it in there. With a few pats to ensure it stayed put, she shrugged, fully intending to wander over to another figure and poke it or some shit. Why did anyone make these…

Her eyes darted up at the Queen’s indication, and her gaze flicked towards the Basin. Sure, why not? Granting a thumbs-up in affirmation, she followed into the midst.
