Cheerful and tenacious in equal measure, and curious beyond all else, she began her journey on a mission to find those her mother once called family. And find them she did, soon rubbing elbows with demigods, leaders and even ghosts from the past. Her determination is resolute, her thirst for knowledge unmatched. We can't wait to see where her next adventure takes her!

It went without saying that this seemed like a dangerous idea, but of course these days Flora didn't need to say much of anything. Sure, that had always been the case with Jack, but now that she knew about it, the Doubletake could be a good deal more direct with her thoughts.
Not letting any of them make it to her lips, instead, Flora merely gazed over the side of the ship as they flew. Jack was no shoddy sailor even if it was basically pitch black and they were flying through the sky. Besides, if things really went tits up, Flora could always just use her compass to flit back to Torchline leaving Jack to fetch whatever it was they'd come for on his own.
The night sky was awash in starlight as if for the entirety of LongNight the stars had merely been storing up their light rather than being blocked out of existence. In the dark it was easier to pretend not to see the violet hue that now touched every part of the Oerwoud, but of course Flora could smell the void-touched plants as much as she could hear the shrieking cries of whatever creatures were milling about in the darkness below. Wrinkling her nose against the stench the Doubletake turned to see the captain staring at her.
Rolling her eyes, Flora huffed as she shrugged. "Okay, obviously I want to talk to you about something." Dahlia, inviting her to the bar, what are we?, if Jack would be able to safely listen in from the thieves guild in the back, did he want to have sex again, etc.

If Jack is staring, it's more because of Flora's no shoddy sailor thought, let's be honest. He's a fucking great sailor, thank you, Your Highness, the captain having let the majority of the crew go to amuse themselves now that The Ark is star-filled and airborne, leaving them with a skeleton number and Jack at the helm. Beneath them the void unfurls like some toxic flower, having infected the Oerwoud rapidly over the course of Longnight.
"Why would you wanna do that?" he asks in response to Thought #1, and shut up to #2. "Should be able to listen in easy enough, long as you chat near the backroom doors." As for the sex, he can only raise his eyebrows to her at that, before slyly glancing away and stepping back enough to gesture for her to join him on the quarterdeck before the wheel.

"Know your enemy, right?" Flora says with the sort of casual shrug that was completely at odds with the way her thoughts were suddenly tepid and uneasy. "At least if I can talk to her and find out what she wants, global domination aside, I can figure out what's best for Torchline." If that meant being forced to heel at the side of a clearly dominant force, well, Flora would consider it. Unlike Maea, there was a very small set of circumstances that would see the Doubletake risking her life for anyone else; fewer still now that her dad could bring people back from the dead.
"But obviously she isn't going to be entirely forthcoming." She wouldn't, after all. "So if you're nearby..."
Moving to his side, Flora brushes her thumb against one of the spokes, noting the way the ridge at the top felt not unlike a nipple.

Grumbling, because that's the exact sort of bullshit that Jack preaches, he can only roll his eyes and shrug his agreement. "An' if you find out that what she wants is your insides painted all over the wall?" he asks dryly, gently swatting her hand away from the spokes - fuck you, they do not look like nipples (they do, Jack) - before grasping at the wheel and keeping Flora conveniently caged in front of him, the captain pressed against her back as he sails.
"If you're askin' if I'll listen in an' spy for you, then obviously yes, I will. But don't be fuckin' stupid." As if it needs to be said. "Make sure your demigod daddies are home in Torchline in case shit goes south, an' be ready for anythin'." If Jack looks at it objectively, this is probably one of the ballsiest things Flora has ever done, in truth. But it'll take a sec for that to sink in.

As you traverse a particularly boggy area of the Oerwoud, your foot sinks into what appears to be solid ground. The ground beneath you quivers and shifts, revealing the dreaded Voidquicksand Moss. Tendrils of void-infested energy shoot out, ensnaring your legs and dragging you downward. The moss seeks to consume both your body and soul, trapping you in a void-infested torment. You must struggle to free yourself before being pulled into the abyss.
As the Oerwoud has been taken over by the Family, remaining in this area will be dangerous as the flora/fauna will continue to grow increasingly hostile toward you (unless you're a Friend of the Family). Remaining in this thread for a prolonged period of time will likely trigger a KQ.
You’ve encountered Void Quicksand Moss. This counts as an uncommon creature encounter for the purposes of levelling, but does not count as a Random Event for levelling or MP. There will be no further admin/re intervention. If you choose to follow this creature, you do so at your own risk, however, just having it in this thread is enough to satisfy your levelling requirements.
Voidquicksand Moss (Uncommon): The Quicksand Moss, now tainted by the void, exudes an even more ominous aura. Its brown appearance, once a result of consuming animals, now harbors an unsettling void energy. The moss not only grabs and digests unsuspecting creatures but also ensnares their souls in void-infested torment. Encountering Voidquicksand Moss means facing the dual threat of physical consumption and spiritual corruption.

"Then I use my compass and disappear." Flora replies with a shrug. Was it possible that Dahlia could get in a sucker punch before then? Sure; the Reaper was obviously stronger and faster, but all it would take was one flinch of Flora's finger to secure her safety.
Rolling her eyes as he swatted her hand away, Flora might nearly have forced his hand into hers just to be a shit about it. Were she in a more playful mood she might well have, but given the high-stakes scenario that they were discussing the idea was nothing more than a fleeting splash of violet in her thoughts.
"You can wear my invisibility ring, how about that." She offers, before nodding her head. Yes, yes, she'd make sure her Dad's were about. They couldn't be too close though as Flora was fairly certain Dahlia would be able to smell a trap that obvious all the way from Starfall.
High above the ground as they are, it isn't their limps trapped by the quicksand moss, but a molten tiger. It's yowls of surprise quickly reached the Ark leaving absolutely no doubt as to the trouble it was in below.

"Mm, she really has thought of everythin'," Jack mutters at Flora's apparent ingenuity, and whilst he furrows his brow at the flash of purple in her thoughts, hopefully having the captain at her back will stay her hands from preventing his steering of the ship. You know, especially as it looks as though a molten tiger has gotten trapped nearby, and Jack wrinkles his nose at the sight of the void moss.
"Deal," he says instantly at the offer to wear her invisibility ring, because haha, of course he isn't going to turn down a chance to be an invisible mind-reader, Flora. In the meantime, he's already banking them around to try and navigate further into the Oerwoud whilst simultaneously keeping the Ark safe from... whatever the fuck is down there these days, honestly.
"I almost fell off the Leap of Faith once," he says conversationally as they go. "Wouldn't recommend it. 'Specially not now."
