The sound of a gong woke Sah abruptly. "What the fuck?" He whispered, half-convinced he'd dreamt it. But the sound repeated once more and soon the Abandoned was throwing his blanket aside and putting on his boots and coat. Lilly stood at the door, scratching it insistently. The wolf's ears were folded back in annoyance. She too was unappreciative of the sudden wake-up.
Throwing open the door, Sah expected many things. A giant bell-shaped bug standing on his doorstep was not one of them. Dumbfounded, the Outlander eyed the creature for a moment. Lilly crept forward and cautiously prodded the bug with her paw. The big bug let out out another loud ring, making both Outlander and wolf jump.
"What the fuck?" Sah repeated, genuinely bewildered by the situation.
