Introducing a new stat: ARCANA!



After many discussions, we've come to the conclusion that it doesn't make sense for magical damage to be reliant on a character's END stat, as this has the opposite effect to what we initially intended (that being the idea of powerful mages who are - perhaps necessarily - glass cannons). Having magic damage = END also heavily favours those who use magic like our Abandoned/other magic users, simultaneously upping their HP and also boosting their damage. 

We also realised that, due to lower stat distributions for our magically-inclined characters, other races (looking at you Accepted) were able to quest for and/or purchase powerful magic items whilst also having a bucketload of stats given to them which, swole, yes, but also rude.

And so, enter: Arcana!

For all magic users (Abandoned, Hybrids, Demigods, Ancients), you will be permitted a one-time, free stat redistribution to compensate for the fact that, this whole time, you've been allocating your stats based on the idea that END = magical damage. (Don't worry, we'll also be taking into account any extra stats you've earned from trainings/rewards/seasonals etc., as well as what you'd be allocated via levelling).

As well as this redistribution, you will also be given a certain number of ARC points per level that we've pre-calculated and will add for you. We'll be doing this on a character-by-character basis in your admin chats, but please be patient - you outnumber us by quite a bit!

So as a recap on your stats:

STR: Item damage / regular shift damage
DEX: Combined with LUCK, your likelihood of hitting/dodging
END: HP
LUCK:  Combined with DEX, your likelihood of hitting/dodging
ARC: Magical ability damage / mythical shift damage

Oh, and one last thing.

With the addition of Arcana, we're finally doing away with the stat limit - you no longer need to have 30pts across the board in order to break that particular glass ceiling. 

Thank you all for your patience going back and forth with this. It's finally dead, and you can feel free to have a 900 HP tank with 1 STR for all we care!
