The wind whistled and howled above them, but as they moved further and further into the earth eventually all that could be heard was their own footsteps, breath, and the way their bodies manifested their focus. Impatience swirled through the Sentinels fingertips. Worry tugged at the corners of his mouth. His face, a focused scowl, didn’t even brighten as Tal murmured his frustrations and asked out for Safrin. It wasn’t quite clear whether the male was trying to call her or was simply praying to her. So, Noah took a step forward. He gently shouldered past his comrades and etched a response into the frozen stone.
