Flora's relief is palpable despite her attempts to make it seem as though she is merely annoyed by Jack's nosey fingers and not The Letter coming to light. Collecting the letters and shifting them into a neat stack which she hides beneath the bar, assuming that would keep them safe from the captain, Flora raises her glass in response to his compliment before smiling around a healthy sip of gin. The fire that sings down her throat helps soothe her momentary flare of panic before adding to the warmth the pinch of Jack's fingers had kindled in her belly.
Leaning casually forward against the bar, it's with a slight stiffening of surprise and then casual disappointment, that Flora watches Jack rise. [say]"I charge by the letter."[/say] She trills flirt atiously, meaning, you know, by the individual alphabet letter, and found herself suddenly flustered that he might think she meant by the overall letter which was much less interesting.
Apparently, it wasn't the cat that had got her tongue, but her vagina, and it was certainly not letting it go anytime soon.

One might have expected Jack to be more interested in whatever secrets are hidden in Remi's letters, but there's nothing in Flora's thoughts to suggest there's anything more than a personal need for privacy, and so he leaves it be. For now. If his sticky fingers ever do get curious, there's nothing a well placed gale won't fix to blow the neat little letter stack all across the floor.
[say]"I should hope so. If you weren't a savvy businesswoman by now, I'd be disappointed,"[/say] the captain informs her, and whilst he does offer a lingering glance to the Doubletake over his shoulder as he leaves, he still does leave. Maybe if Flora baits her hook with something a little more to the captain's taste, she might reel him in for a night.
